2015
In 2014, I didn't read nearly as many books as I expected, mostly because I read a TON of Big Fat Books. The Goldfinch, 1Q84, . . . And Ladies of the Club, the list goes on and on. My favorite book of the year was The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, which should surprise no one.
Here's what I plan to read in 2015:
The Aviator's Wife by Melanie Benjamin
Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain
We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo
Sunflowers by Sheramy Bundrick
The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton
Telegraph Avenue by Michael Chabon
The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke
Empty Mansions by Bill Dedman
Middlemarch by George Eliot
Bossypants by Tina Fey
Faithful Place by Tana French
Happy Families by Carlos Fuentes
Mary Called Magdalene by Margaret George
Sycamore Row by John Grisham
Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All by Allan Gurganus
The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach
The Nick Adams Stories by Ernest Hemingway
The Warriors by John Jakes
Devil in the Grove by Gilbert King
When Evil Came to Good Hart by Mardi Link
My Life in Middlemarch by Rebecca Mead
The Son by Philipp Meyer
The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht
Buddha in the Attic by Julie Otsuka
The Magician's Assistant by Ann Patchett
The Dante Club by Matthew Pearl
Secret Ingredients edited by David Remnick
The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling
New York by Edward Rutherfurd
The Electrical Field by Kerri Sakamoto
Super Sad True Love Story by Gary Shteyngart
Far From the Tree by Andrew Solomon
The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman
Wow! That's a lot. If I make it through half of them, I'll be happy!
Have a great 2015.
